Jon Greenberg, Moderator
Jon, Executive Editor at NHPR, focuses on special coverage. He is a nationally recognized innovator in radio-web integration. Prior to coming to New Hampshire, he was a Washington reporter at NPR; his investigative work from that time appeared in the Washington Post. He has degrees from Johns Hopkins University, Syracuse University and the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard.
Gerardine Ferlins, Panelist
Gerardine is the President/CEO of Cirtronics Corporation, founded in 1979. Cirtronics is an employee owned, $50 million, full service electronic/electro-mechanical contract manufacturer. As a Sociology major, she has grown the company with a holistic philosophy to serve customers, employees, suppliers, community and environment. Currently she is involved with New Hampshire Catholic Charities, BIA, NH Community Loan Fund, and Vested for Growth.
Nannu Nobis, Panelist
Nannu, PE, LSP is the founder and CEO of Nobis Engineering, Inc., an employee-owned company with a 22-year legacy of collaboration, responsiveness, and community involvement. As a multi-disciplined design and consulting firm Nobis provides a full range of environmental, geotechnical and civil engineering services to clients throughout the U.S. With proven expertise and established industry relationships, every member of Nobis' 100-person employee-owner team personally supports the company's commitment to providing value to every client, teaming partner and community we serve. Nannu holds an MS in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and a BE in Civil Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science in India.
Doug Vincent, Panelist
Doug is passionate about leading collaborative, dynamic, multi-disciplined teams with a dual focus of creating superior long-term investor ROI and an open, people-centric corporate culture. He has been President and CEO of Design Mentor, Inc.— an engineering consultancy which specializes in innovation of sophisticated medical systems — since its founding in January 2000. Doug has also been President and CEO of Design Medical, a startup Med Tech company developing novel physiologic blood pumping systems since its founding in 2002. He currently shares fourteen patents with others pending. Doug holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he had also been an Instructor and alumni mentor for the project-based senior mechanical design course 2.009 from 1998 to 2007.
Walter Chapin, Panelist
Walter is Co-founder and CEO of Company C, Inc., an emerging national home furnishings brand based in Concord, NH. Company C designs colorful rugs, fabrics and decorative furnishings. Its exclusive designs are available through hundreds of dealers, three company owned stores and ecommerce. Walter's background is general management and marketing. His goal remains to build a great company with great people, and to create an enduring brand known for Colorful Living. Walter holds an MBA from the UNH's Whittemore School of Business and Economics. He serves on a couple of local boards and is an advocate for the local "creative economy."
John Hamilton, Panelist
John is Vice President of Economic Opportunity at the New Hampshire Community Loan Fund, a 28-year old nonprofit that turns investments into loans and education to create opportunity and transform lives across New Hampshire. John has a passion for cultivating people and profits. He is currently leading the expansion of the Community Loan Fund's small-business lending program, which connects business owners with the financing and expertise they need to compete in a changing marketplace.
John also leads Vested for Growth where he pioneers the use of Royalty Financing for established businesses that need growth capital. John also facilitates monthly meetings of CEO peer groups. These peer groups involve leaders from diverse businesses but the CEOs share a common desire – to find new ways to engage employees and improve quality. John offers an eclectic mix of leadership experience having worked in the areas of business investing, workforce development, affordable housing, and energy conservation. This reflects his entrepreneurial nature and interest in building "win win strategies" across all three sectors – for profit, non profit and government.
